Martin is a rising senior at the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in biochemistry. His research interests revolve around medicinal chemistry, notably its intersections with radionuclide pharmaceutical therapy and metastatic cancer. Advised by Dr. Justin Wilson over the last two years, Martin has developed a variety of chelator architectures and metal-chelator complexes in pursuit of subcellular radiation delivery with Auger electron emissions. In the Hsieh-Wilson Lab, Martin will be probing the activity of a possible glycosaminoglycan sulfotransferase inhibitor to promote axonal regeneration after injury.
