Travel Grant Awards

Travel Grant Awardees
10 Neuroscience graduate students and 2 postdoctoral scholars received grants of up to $550 in order to attend the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) 49th annual meeting in Chicago, IL in October 2019. Many of them presented posters.
Matthew Clark, a postdoctoral scholar in the Dickinson lab was awarded $1,250 to attend the Neurobiology of Drosphila conference in Cold Harbor Springs, NY in October 2019. Poster presented: "Identification Of Local Circuits Governing Flight Control In Drosophila." Click here for the abstract.
Yu-Li Ni, a graduate student in the Meister lab was awarded $1,000 to attend the American Society for Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL, in October 2019. Poster presented: "The Retina as a Testbed for Circuit-level Mechanisms of General Anesthesia." Click here for the abstract.

Stefanos Stagkourakis, a postdoctoral scholar in the Anderson lab was awarded $1,000 to give an oral presentation at the FASEB Science Research Conference in Palm Beach, FL in July 2019. Arash Farhadi, 5th year graduate student in the Shapiro Lab was awarded $1,000 to attend the Gordon Research Conference on Synthetic Biology in Waterville Valley, NH, in July 2019. 13 Neuroscience graduate students and 3 postdoctoral scholars received grants of up to $400 in order to attend the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) 48th annual meeting in San Diego, CA in November 2018. Many of them presented posters.
David Maresca, a 3rd year postdoctoral scholar in the Shapiro Lab, was awarded $1,500 to give an oral presentation and present a poster at the International Ultrasonics Symposium in Kobe, Japan in October 2018. Talk title: "Gas vesicles as hemodynamic enhancers for noninvasive functional ultrasound imaging of the mouse brain."
Michael Piacentino, a 3rd year postdoctoral scholar in the Bronner Lab, was awarded $1,826 to give an oral presentation at the 77th annual meeting of the Society for Developmental Biology in Portland, Oregon in July 2018. Han Wan, a 5th year postdoctoral scholar in the Sternberg Lab was awarded $1,500 to attend Brains & Behavior: Order & Disorder in the Nervous System at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in May 2018. Poster presented, "Investigation of molecular and circuit mechanism of sleep in C.elegans."
Erica Hutchins, a 4th year postdoctoral scholar in the Bronner Lab, was awarded $1,008 to give an oral presentation at the Northeast meeting of the Society for Developmental Biology (NESDB) in Woods Hole, MA in April 2018. Claire Bedbrook, 6th year graduate student in the Gradinaru, was awarded $780 to give an oral presentation at the Sleep Regulation and Function Gordon Research Conference: Origins and Models of Sleep in Galveston, Texas in March 2018.
