Marc Moroz
Profile
Marc is a rising senior pursuing a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Classical Studies at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. Last summer, he worked with the Vilesov Lab at USC to obtain IR spectra of unstable cations, but his research at Hampden-Sydney over the last two years has focused on the inhibition of viral replication, specifically regarding the identification of targeting sites and potential inhibitors for betacoronaviruses. Marc's experience as an undergraduate researcher, lab technician, and teaching assistant has given him experience with spectroscopy, chemical synthesis, genetic engineering, and many other biochemical techniques. Marc intends to obtain a Ph.D. in chemical biology with the aim of a career in research. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering with the local fire department, playing hockey, reading, and playing guitar.
