Haoxuan (Brant) Yin is interested in understanding how populations of neurons encode and process information to generate innate and learned behaviours. He received a BSc in Neuroscience and an MRes in Biosciences: Circuits and Systems Neuroscience from University College London. He worked with Dr. Matthew Wilson on hippocampal-cortical interaction in spatial cognition, and with Dr. Thomas Wills on the development of spatial behaviour in rodents. More recently, he worked in Dr. Sonja Hofer's lab at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, where he investigated the role of noradrenaline in sensory predictive processing using two-photon calcium imaging and chemogenetics. Outside of research, Brant enjoys hiking, fossil hunting, and visiting museums.
