Daewon Lee
Daewon Lee is a postdoctoral fellow in the Oka Lab at Caltech. He earned his undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in Biological Sciences from Seoul National University in Korea, where he conducted his doctoral research under the mentorship of Dr. Jongkyeong Chung. His Ph.D. work focused on the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease, particularly the role of neuronal metabolism and mitochondrial quality control. His current research explores how the brain communicates with the kidney via autonomic neural circuits to regulate fluid and electrolyte homeostasis. Through this work, he aims to uncover the neural mechanisms underlying kidney function and systemic balance, with implications for aging and disease.
