Brianna Newton
Profile
Brianna (Bri) Newton is a rising senior at the University of California, San Diego studying neurobiology and psychology with an emphasis in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience. Last summer, Bri spent her summer at the Janelia Research Campus investigating theory of mind in rodents using robots. However, she primarily researches chronic cognitive deficits associated with traumatic brain injury in rodents using large-scale local field potential electrophysiology. Bri aspires to earn a Ph.D. in neuroscience, specializing in neural circuits that guide decision-making behavior, particularly in social contexts, and aims to have a lab of her own to continue following her curiosity. Outside of research, Bri is always on the hunt for new coffee shops and loves going on adventures in the outdoors!
