Yuelin is interested in how we are able to robustly and vividly reconstruct a visual world from seemingly chaotic electrical signals in the visual brain. She is combining customized recording technologies and computational models to tackle this problem. Yuelin graduated from the science honors program at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and has been a visiting researcher for her senior year at Yale University, where she used patch clamping, optogenetics and imaging to study functional neural circuits in the mouse retina. She is in Doris Tsao's lab that moved to the University of California, Berkeley.
