Sanghyun is a Chen Graduate Fellow in Social and Decision Neuroscience. He is curious about how humans, as opposed to machine learning algorithms, can learn so much from so little. He is exploring human intuitions that affect decision making, as well as the ability to transfer previously learned knowledge into new domains, employing computational methods in analyzing human behavioral and neuroimaging data to address this topic. He imagines his discovery will help not only in understanding the human brain but also in the development of more efficient AI. Before coming to Caltech, he graduated from Seoul National University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics.
