Marissa Douglas
Profile
Marissa is pursuing a mathematical and computational biology major at Harvey Mudd College. Some of her research interests include animal behavior, community ecology, and comparative physiology. In the summer of 2023, she worked with Dr. Matina Donaldson-Matasci to better understand ant nesting behaviors under competition. She hopes to eventually combine her research interests into conservation projects for declining species that are not yet understood enough to support. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and fantasy novels. Marissa is excited to work with Dr. Michael Dickinson, to understand the neurophysiology of flight mechanics in mosquitoes, and to expand her own laboratory skills and neuroscience knowledge.
