Maria Jaimes

Maria is pursuing a biochemistry major at Indiana University Bloomington. Some of her research interests include immunology, genetics, and evolutionary biology. In the summer of 2022, Maria worked in the Martin's lab at UF Scripps Biomedical Research optimizing gene therapy treatments for HIV. Maria has also conducted research on health economics and examined healthcare utilization and disparities within the healthcare industry. She hopes to one day combine her passion for research and data analysis to tackle these disparities. In her free time, Maria enjoys reading, cooking, lifting, and taking care of her plants. Overall, Maria is very excited to work in the Parker lab for the summer of 2023 and strengthen her background as a researcher.
