Isabelle graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Neuroscience before working at the National Eye Institute for two years, studying color vision in primates using neuroimaging and electrophysiology. At Caltech, she researches visuotactile processing in Richard Andersen's neural prosthetics lab. She is especially interested in how the human brain incorporates multisensory integration as it constructs experiences of touch, and how intracortical microstimulation (ICMS) can be leveraged to create artificial touch sensations in individuals with spinal cord injury.
