Lisa is a rising junior at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in biology on the neuroscience track and minoring in bioinformatics. Her research interest lies in mapping human behavior and cognition onto neural circuits through neural recording devices and optical imaging, especially in the field of Brain-Computer-Interface. Last summer, she worked on identifying receptors involved in serotonin-induced calcium response in ventral CA1 hippocampal neurons in Yulong Li's lab at Peking University. Currently, she is an undergraduate research assistant in the Hengen lab at WashU to computationally analyze neural networks critically in the primary motor cortex in SOD1-ALS mice before Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis onset using multielectrode array recordings and pose estimation. In her free time, Lisa enjoys playing music, climbing, vlogging, and traveling. She wishes to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience and she is thrilled to delve into a new project this summer on using dynamical systems modeling to find patterns in neuronal activity on mouse models experiencing social defeats.
