Bre' Anna Sherman
Profile
Bre' Anna is a chemistry major at the University of Alaska Anchorage
with minors in math and neuroscience. She's interested in research
that surrounds neural prosthetics and neurodegeneration. She hopes to
one day develop more effective and affordable prosthetics. She is
currently working in a research lab studying global ischemia where she
spends her time with the cerebral blood vessels of T. scripta to
determine their mechanism of vasodilation. In the summer of 2021, she
worked in a Quantum Optomechanics lab studying the nanofabrication of
photonic crystal micromirrors at the University of Arizona. She plans
on getting an MD/PhD in neuroscience and hopes to help change the
world with her research while also working one-on-one in the clinic.
In her free time, she enjoys reading as much as she possibly can,
snowboarding in the wintertime, and swimming in the summer.
