Arianna McKnight
Profile
Arianna is pursuing a biology major with a specialization in cancer and a Spanish minor at the University of Chicago. Some of her research interests include cancer biology and cellular and molecular biology. In the summer of 2023, Arianna worked in the Section of Hospital Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals to interact with patients and optimize their most dire healthcare needs. Arianna has also conducted research on cellular senescence, with a focus on HCT116 colorectal cancer cells. She works as a research assistant in the area of cellular and molecular biology during the academic year in the Pincus lab at UChicago. In the future, she hopes to combine her dual passions for research and medicine to tackle health disparities and ameliorate common deleterious diseases. In her free time, Arianna enjoys serving with her church, volunteering in the community, spending quality time with friends, playing violin and piano, and traveling. Overall, Arianna is very excited to work in the Chou lab for the summer of 2024 and fortify her background as a researcher.
