Aniek is fascinated by the way people are able to attribute value to, and make decisions about, complex and high-dimensional objects. Her research interests focus around the neural bases of such value-based decisions. She earned her undergraduate degree in social sciences, with a focus on economics, from Tilburg University and completed a master in Neuroeconomics at Maastricht University (both in the Netherlands). Prior to starting her PhD, Aniek worked at Caltech as a research assistant.
