Alex works with Dr. Yisong Yue on understanding how neural networks generalize. Before coming to Caltech, he studied neuroscience at Cornell University, where he joined the lab of Dr. Jesse Goldberg to research the neural mechanisms underlying self-evaluation in singing birds. After graduation, Alex spent two years in Dr. Evan Feinberg's lab at UCSF working on sensory processing in the superior colliculus.
