Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute Workshop on Computation
November 18, 2017
10:00 am — 3:00 pm
Beckman Institute Auditorium
Sponsored by the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience
This workshop will explore the topic of computational neuroscience at Caltech. Its goal is to promote discussion between neuroscience and theoretical/computational laboratories to learn more about current research and to forge new interactions and collaborations.
The workshop will have four panels. Each panel will include 3-5 ~10 minute presentations by Caltech faculty followed by group discussion. The first panel will consist of the Center Directors and Chen Institute Director, discussing their visions of the role of computation in the Chen Institute of Neuroscience activities. The second will include Caltech faculty currently pursuing computational neuroscience research as examples of this type of research currently being pursued on campus. The third panel will consist of neuroscience faculty that may wish to include a computational component to their research. The forth panel will include Caltech computation and theory faculty who may wish to become involved in neuroscience research.
The workshop is open to the Caltech community. It will be held from 10am to 3pm on November 18, 2017 in Beckman Institute Auditorium. Details on the agenda will follow shortly.
