Chen Institute Workshop on Computational Approaches to Neuroscience

November 18, 2017
10:00 am — 3:00 pm
Beckman Institute Auditorium

Sponsored by the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience

To engage the larger Caltech community in the excitement of contemporary neuroscience and to enlarge the breadth of neuroscience research on campus, the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience at Caltech is instituting a series of Chen Institute Workshops.  These workshops are designed to introduce non-neuroscientists to some of the challenging problems facing our understanding of brain function, as well as to bring them up to date on the state-of-the-art of knowledge and methods in different subfields of neuroscience. The hope is that these Workshops may spark interest among Caltech faculty and trainees who have not previously participated in neuroscience research, and catalyze new ideas for collaborative studies that span different disciplines across Caltech.

This first workshop will explore the topic of computational neuroscience at Caltech. Its goal is to promote discussion between neuroscience and theoretical/computational laboratories to learn more about current research and to forge new interactions and collaborations.

Speakers include: David Anderson, Richard Andersen, Doris Tsao, Colin Camerer, Ralph Adolphs, Viviana Gradinaru, Tyson Aflalo, Ann Kennedy, Francisco Luongo, John O'Doherty, Matt Thomson, Lior Pachter, Justin Bois, Markus Meister, and Pietro Perona.

The workshop is open to the Caltech community.

Please note that registration will close at 5 pm PST, Monday, November 13, 2017.
